7th and 8th grade students from John S. Martinez Sea & Sky STEM Magnet School attended the Success Leadership Conference at the Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vermont . Students were selected to attend based on demonstrated leadership qualities and investment in the learning community.

Students participated in team building challenges and leadership seminars. Working in project groups, students researched local non-profits. Students reflected on their community, learned how to form community partnerships, and presented ideas to one another. By the end of the summit, several groups had already scheduled meetings with organization leaders to discuss future collaborations. Students who attended the trip will use the skills they learned to lead a school-wide community day on World Kindness day.

AMPS Career Day at Wilbur Cross High School gave students the opportunity to learn from people working in arts, media and public service what might be possible if they pursue careers in these fields. When students hear real stories about career journeys, challenges, and successes, it makes those possibilities feel more real and more attainable. #NHPS

The Yale Center for British Art invites students ages 5 to 24 to explore the meaning of "home" in New Haven by creating art tomorrow, March 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 1080 Chapel Street.

Laura Hutchinson, reporter and anchor for News Channel 8 visited Mauro Sheridan School in honor of Community Kindergarten Day, Women's History Month, and our monthly theme, Making the Right Choices! She read to Mrs. Puglisi's Kindergarten class! #NHPS

Truman School 3rd and 4th graders (bilingual crews from Ms. Pasán's and Mrs. Irizarry's rooms) had the best day at the Yale Peabody Museum! It was so awesome to see them checking out the fossils and getting hands-on in the workshops.

A huge thank you to the Peabody team for hooking us up with these free field trips and workshops! We’re so lucky to have such a cool spot to learn in. #NHPS

Martinez School welcomed BOE member Dr. Abie Benitez! She joined students for a yoga session and engaged them in meaningful conversations about student leadership and her own leadership journey. We also welcomed Maxine, a therapy dog, who brought extra joy to students and staff. We appreciate Dr. Benitez’s continued support of our school community. #NHPS

Truman school is buzzing with the love of reading! Check out how our students are celebrating:

Our 1st, 3rd and 4th graders had a great time with our literacy coach, Mr. Greene, who joined them for a special read-aloud session that brought stories to life. It was a beautiful celebration of literacy and community!

Flashlight Friday: Things got glowing in 3rd bilingual grade! Students had a blast reading their favorite books using flashlights for a cozy, "camp-out" vibe.

Reading Circles: Our 5th bilingual graders spent quality time diving deep into their stories, reading side-by-side with their teachers.

We are so proud of our students for showing that reading isn't just a skill—it's an adventure!

Across the district, our schools came together to celebrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day! This year’s celebration focused on the power of new experiences, the strength of our relationships, and our shared responsibility to build a better community. From the youngest learners enjoying puppet shows and read-alouds of Each Kindness and The Humble Pie, to older students engaging in powerful spoken word poetry and sessions led by student leaders and athletes, there was something for everyone. We were even treated to a special visit from the NH Park Rangers and a district-wide sing-along led by our own talented educators. By connecting with community partners and one another, our students practiced the empathy and inclusivity that make our schools a place where everyone belongs.

At Nathan Hale School, grade 7 students in Kristin Satawhite's science class worked together to dissect a frog. Everyone succeeded! #NHPS
