Our 3rd graders in Ms. Pasan’s class at Truman School closed Hispanic Heritage Month with a beautiful reflection on love, respect, and belonging. Each student created a display about their country of origin, working proudly with their families to share traditions, foods, and stories that represent their roots. After presenting to their classmates, students discussed the similarities and differences between the many cultures represented in the classroom. Through these conversations, they came to a powerful understanding — that even though we may come from different places and traditions, we all belong to the same world and deserve to be treated with love and care.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to celebrate who we are, where we come from, and how much stronger we are when we learn to love and support one another.

First-grade students in Ms. Rosario's room at Truman School had an amazing time getting creative! They made colorful maracas inspired by the flags of different Hispanic countries, celebrating the vibrant cultures and traditions they represent.
But the fun didn’t stop there! They also explored Indigenous Spanish words by coloring the alphabet, learning new vocabulary while connecting with the rich history of Spanish-speaking communities.

It was wonderful to see their excitement and curiosity shine as they combined art, language, and culture in such a hands-on way. We’re so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm! #NHPS

Worthington Hooker students explored the Energy in Action exhibit by Energize CT.

Fair Haven School hosted a learning fair for families. Families met with staff at each grade level. Families learned about what the students are learning in each subject area, including specials . Each team had materials and manipulatives to take home. There were backpacks and school supplies passed out to the families. It was a great opportunity to connect and to hear about the great learning happening across the school!
