Metro kicked off Black History Month with a poetry celebration — lifting student voices and honoring the power of spoken word. 🎤
Students shared original poems ✍🏽 alongside the timeless works of Langston Hughes and the modern works of Amanda Gorman.
Ms. Latoya performed original poetry and shared copies of her book 📚, and the Metro community was inspired by guest poet Waltrina Kirkland-Mullins, retired NHPS educator and 2003 Teacher of the Year.
