We strongly encourage you to fill out the survey and share honestly what is already going well and what could be better. The survey is an important tool for NHPS and our schools to learn about how you and, most importantly, your student experience school.

You will receive a link to the survey from CustomInsight, a third party company, as an email and text message on February 2, 2026 .Your responses are anonymous.
The survey will take 10-15 minutes.
You can complete the survey on your phone or on a computer and can pause the survey at any time and return to it on any device.
The survey will be open from February 2-27, 2026.
The Climate Survey will ask questions about the learning environment, belonging and community, staff-student relationships, bullying and safety, and discipline.
How will we use the survey response data?
The results of each school’s survey will be used to improve the culture and learning environment at your child’s school.
Responses will be synthesized to pull out larger trends so we can celebrate our successes and make plans for improvement based on our larger community’s feedback.
The results will also inform Safe Schools Plans and our Strategic Plan.

Metro Mentors gathered for their second meet-up of the year, bringing together Juniors, Seniors, and 9th graders for connection, creativity, and cookies. 🍪 While decorating, students applied basic color theory 💚💛🧡💙❤️to design treats that reflected their hopes for the year ahead—using color to express goals around joy, growth, empathy, creativity, and strength.

Students Shape the Best City to Start 🏛️
Last week, Alder @carolinetanbeesmith joined Metro juniors and seniors in our Business and Law Pathways to discuss entrepreneurship 💡, policy 🏛️, and the vision of New Haven as the Best City to Start 🚀 — where any business or community-focused idea can take root 🌱. Students shared insights and ideas shaped by their own experiences in our city.
Last week, Alder @carolinetanbeesmith joined Metro juniors and seniors in our Business and Law Pathways to discuss entrepreneurship 💡, policy 🏛️, and the vision of New Haven as the Best City to Start 🚀 — where any business or community-focused idea can take root 🌱. Metro journalism students visited the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University, stepping into professional broadcasting studios, working behind cameras and in front of green screens, and collaborating in real-world media spaces.
Through Metro’s concurrent enrollment journalism course, students earn both high school and college credit, gaining early access to college-level learning while building skills, confidence, and clarity about future pathways. Experiences like this turn coursework into credentials and curiosity into possibility.

Metro students closed Marking Period 2 at the Fresh Start Station with chilled, fresh-squeezed apple and orange juice, reflecting on their attendance and setting goals for Marking Period 3. With tea, hot cocoa and snacks also on offer, students celebrated progress and encouraged one another—turning goal-setting into a moment of connection and community.
A big thank you to Mr. Conaway, Ms. Patel, and Ms. Fasano for leading this pop-up event. At Metro, we celebrate growth, accountability, and the power of supporting each other. 💙

Dr. King's vision of equality, justice, and unity resonates now more than ever. In a world where divisions still exist–and where some actively incite those divisions–it is essential that we renew our commitment to the principles he championed. His dedication to nonviolent protest and dialogue serves as a powerful reminder that progress requires both courage and collaboration.
